Responsibility

As owners of Fila Brasileiro, fast, strong and aggressive dogs, we should be very careful with their contacts with strangers. We can’t foresee the other people’s stupidity. We can’t let other people think that Fila is a dangerous dog when it goes after a stranger when it is provoked or not. We should avoid this because otherwise Fila can be included in the list of dangerous dogs under the jurisdiction of BSL.

According to law, if your dog as hardly as barks or growls at somebody who might feel endangered (without being bitten), the pet can be classified as a dangerous dog! We should be very cautious and use all the means to avoid such situations. We have to prevent Fila from being included on the BSL list.

When walking the dog, keep it on a leash (always check its length!). Don’t trust your dog and its reactions. It’s always better to be safe than sorry. Sometimes it might me too late to stop your Fila and the risk is too high. It’s not only in the case of Fila but any other pet who possesses a muzzle full of sharp fangs.
